New House

Well, here are some pictures of the house that we're buying.

Yes, the house is old and it needs to be updated, but it has loads of potential.
This is the front of the house.
We need to change the roof line.
Who builds a house w/ a flat roof in snow country?
The first left window leads into the kitchen.
The second big window is the semi-formal dining room.
The last 2 windows are each in a bedroom.
Here is another view of the house.
Those are the 2 bedrooms' windows.

This the front as well.
Nice terrace - 2 levels.

This is the lower terrace of the front yard.
The spruce tree on the left is dying from the top down.
I think we'll have to cut it down.
It's died down a few feet from when we first saw the house.
It's going quickly.

This is the entrance of the house.
The opening to the right, before the stone fireplace,
leads into the semi-formal dining room.

This is after you come in and turn right.
2 closets on the right

straight ahead is a another bedroom
2nd left is the master bedroom

This is the other side of the fireplace.
You can see the entry on the left.
To the right is a formal dining room.
I am standing in the great room.

This is the other dining room with a wood burning fireplace on this side.
This is another semi-formal dining room.
We went from no dining rooms to two.
You can see the entry railing straight ahead.

This is the kitchen.
It needs a lot of work.
I guess at least there are new appliances.
JenAir flat electric range
GE stainless steel dishwasher
GE stainless steel double ovens to the right.
There isn't a fridge, but we get to choose the one we want, I guess.

Here is a shot of the master bedroom.
It has 2 closets that form an L.
As you walk into the adjoining bathroom, it's on your left.
There is a small bathroom at the end of the walkway.
You can see the vanity.
There is a sliding door that goes into the pool room.

Here is a shot of the only window in the master bedroom.
It's kind of small, but do-able.

Here is a shot from the formal dining room looking into the great room.
It has mirror all along that wall, so you can see the reflection of the view outside.

Here is outside the pool room and great room.
The sliding door enters into the pool room.
The big triangular things on the roof are solar panels to heat the water for the pool and supplement the hot water heater and central air heating.
To the right (out of the shot) are the big windows of the great room.

These are the weird solar panels that heat the water.
There are 2 skylights in the pool room and one in the main bathroom.

So, here's a shot of the pool.
Like that nice green astro turf.
There is some funky orange and brown astro turf on all of the walls.
70's here we come.
The pool is about 5' deep on the "shallow" end and 6' deep on this end that we are looking at.

This is the "shallow" end of the pool.
You can see the sliding door that leads outside.
We cleaned and filled the pool.
It looks so much better now.
The pool guy is coming tomorrow to put the chemicals in and start it up.

Here is a picture of the upper terrace behind the house.
There is a tennis court behind our house.
Too bad, the property used to belong to this house,
but the previous owners sold it to the neighbors,
so they could build a tennis court.

Here is a shot of the inside of the garage.
It's a 2 car garage that will hold a lot of storage.
There are automatic sprinklers - Yeah!
